Chris Hoke to miss remaining season

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Chris Hoke is likely to miss the remaining season, after suffered neck injury against Jacksonville Jaguars on 16th October.

The 35-year-old Chris Hoke is schedule to undergo neck surgery on Wednesday and going to miss the rest of the season. Hoke, who suffered neck injury against Jacksonville Jaguars on 16th November at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and he is the second longtime player of Pittsburgh’s Steelers defensive front to suffer a career-threatening injury this year. Defensive end Aaron Smith also placed on injured reserve on 22nd October with neck problem at the end of the season.

Steelers’ defensive lineman Steve McClendon said Hoke is likely to attend the team meeting on Tuesday with Coach John Mitchell. He added Hoke is one of the best senior player, who has helped him in everything and difficult to miss him throughout the season. Reports say it’s very tough to predict, whether Hoke and Smith will return back into the team next season, if both the players fit to play.

Pittsburgh Steelers is expected to sign-up with rookie defensive end Corbin Bryant from the training session, where he is going to take Hoke’s place in the team for remaining season on the 53-man roster. Hoke was picked by the Pittsburgh as a undrafted free agent in 2001 season, while Hoke was forced to start the regular season with 19-1 record. Defensive tackle has completed with a career highs of 27 tackles and two sacks, which helped Steelers to a 15-1 record.
