Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams has filed lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend to return the engagement ring which he included in a marriage proposal-by-mail however the claims were rejected by the ex-beauty queen.
The law suit filed by Williams says that a native of Odessa, Texas, is trying to recover ownership of a $76,000 engagement ring which he was sent by mail to Brooke Daniels. The engagement ring was sent in the year 2009 Miss Texas USA. They were in relation and dated for nearly a year.
Roy Williams also stated that he has sent Daniels $5,000 for school and dental bills, a baseball for her brother and a taped marriage proposal in February. However Daniels declined to marry Williams, the lawsuit says that she did not return the ring when Williams asked it back. Daniels said she lost the ring in the lawsuit.
Michael Daniels, father of Brooke Daniels said that Williams told his daughter that he never asked for ring back again and they thought it was a gift. He added that the ring was not lost and ready to return back to avoid the legal issues.
Roy Williams was a standout performer at Odessa Permian High and the University of Texas and later he represented for Detroit Lions and Cowboys. He filed the lawsuit June 30 in state district court in Odessa but he declined to make any comments.
