New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has set a new NFL record for yards passing in a season for 307 yards including four touchdowns, where he help his team to clinch victory against Atlanta Falcons with a 45-16 the NFC South title on Monday night at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Dan Marino said Drew Brees has done a great job and offered congratulations on his Twitter account, hopes to show best performance next season. Brees four touchdown passed gave him 276 for his career, where he has moved forward of former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Joe Montana with 273 and former Caroline Panthers quarterback Vinny Testaverde with 275 for ninth all time record. Marino has thrown for more than 300 yards nine times in his record-setting 1984 and also led Miami Dolphins to the Super Bowl in his second year, before they lost to the San Francisco 49ers.
The 32-year-old Brees said he is not playing for any individual record, where he has passed for more than 4,300 yards in six consecutive seasons and finished 5,069 yards in 2008. He added he wants to play for his team, as he is not thinking about records, who has lead the New Orleans to its first Super Bowl crown in 2009.
