Philadelphia Eagles and Michael Vick have agreed for a six-year contract that makes the Pro Bowl quarterback one of the highest-paid players in the NFL. As the sources say, the deal is worth $100 million that includes about $40 million guaranteed. Michael has returned after spending 18 months in federal prison on dog-fighting charges. He led the Eagles to the NFC East title last season. He was the starting quarterback in the Pro Bowl and was the AP comeback player of the year.
Probably, Vick will be given the Eagles salary-cap flexibility to give the Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson, an extension. He joined Eagles in 2009 and has played sparingly as the third-string Quarterback behind Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb. Last year, he started as the backup but forced his way into the starting role with his exceptional performances after Kolb was injured in the season opener.
He guided Eagles to an 8-3 record in 11 games as a started during the first season playing full time since 2006. Also, he set career high in yards passing 3,018, 21 touchdowns passing, 9 touchdowns rushing, 62.6 completion percentage and a passer rating 100.2 Vick has also rushed for 676 yards. Michael Vick was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 draft once was a star with the Atlanta Falcons. He has signed a $130 million and 10-year deal in 2005.
