A number of starters were held out by the Atlanta Falcons from Tuesday’s practice due to various reasons. Notably, the running back Michael Turner, the cornerback Brent Grime and linebacker Stephen Nicholas were among the list.
Michael Turner did not practice for the second straight day as of the lingering groin issue which has limited his time of practice in the recent weeks. However, he has yet to miss a game this current season. However, Grimes having knee injury has worked out on the side with the trainers during Tuesday’s practice but Smith said that it is doubtful that he will be ready to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Likely, Brent Grimes will make his comeback on 26th December against the New Orleans Saints. The linebacker Stephen Nicholas with quadriceps was limited in practice on Tuesday and Smith said that a determination would be made on his status as the game gets closer. Besides this, the defensive end John Abraham, the centre Todd McClure and tight end Tony Gonzalez did not practice for non-injury related reasons. Meanwhile the right tackle Tyson Clabo was listed as being sick.
