All set to play in Gaints New Stadium

nflThe New York Giants is ready to play the first NFL game at their new $1.6 billion Meadowlands stadium. New York Gaints won a coin toss against  the New York Jets – who will play just a day later.

Two teams had a dispute over opening the new stadium next season, so NFL conduct a secret coin toss and New York Gaints won in that secret coin toss – they will now start the season on Sunday September 12.

The New York Jets, who share the new stadium, will also play at home on opening weekend with them hosting the first televised Monday night game on September 13. (more…)

Mike Bell agrees with Philadelaphia Eagles

nflMike Bell, a restricted free agent signed on an offer sheet with Philadelaphia Eagles as this is the first time in this offseason a restricted player signed with another team.

New Orlean Saints restricted free-agent Mike Bell signed on a offer sheet of one-year deal with the Philadelaphia Eagles and this agreement worth is $1.7 million, which includes $500,000 guaranteed and could be worth over $2 million along with incentives. (more…)

New Stadium ready to host First Game

nflThe Jets announced on Saturday that they’re looking forward to a coin toss that will be held to determine who gets to play the first regular-season game at the stadium the organizations share equally.

“We look forward to the coin toss,” Jets spokesman Bruce Speight said.

Sounds fair. The only problem is no one else, including the NFL, will confirm this coin toss will actually take place. The theory is that the Jets, fearing the game will simply be awarded to the Giants, want a coin flip to take place because then they’d have a chance. (more…)

Mike Holmgren agrees deal with Browns

nflThere is news about a new deal between NFL players, Mike Holmgren and Browns and Jake Delhomme, 35. Coming off his worst season as a pro, has agreed for a two-year contract to play for the Browns, his agent, Rick Smith mentioned in his e-mail. But, the Browns are not confirming adding Delhomme because the contract hasn’t been signed yet. On Thursday, Delhomme visited the Browns after playing the last seven seasons with Carolina Panthers.

First, Holmgren sent a conditional 2011 draft choice to the Seahawks for quarterback Seneca Wallace, whom Holmgren coached in Seattle from 2003-2008. Next, on Tuesday, the Browns’ president released Derek Anderson, who played five seasons for the Browns. (more…)

Now Buffalo Bills Trainer Turn Regarding Starcaps

20081204_zaf_m42_002.jpgMinnesota Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams blamed a trainer on his former team, the Buffalo Bills, for getting him involved with StarCaps, the over-the-counter diuretic that contains a banned substance.

He said in the case yesterday that the trainer told him that “everything was legal” with StarCaps, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Williams, who is suing the league along with teammate Kevin Williams, apparently took the stuff to get rid of fluid from his body due to gout. They want to get out of the four-game suspensions the league gave them in 2008, but obviously it means more to them than just that. (more…)

Antonio Bryant deal with Cincinnati Bengals

20081228_zaf_s70_002.jpgNFL star player Antonio Bryant has agreed to a four-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday.

As per the sources, Antonio Bryant’s contract is worth $28 million. With incentives, he could make as much as $29 million. Receiver Chad Ochocinco has been lobbying for the Bengals to sign Owens since the end of last season, when the Bengals’ passing game lacked a deep threat.

“There’s always been the speculation and perception out there and Chad kick-started it and lobbied to have me here as a teammate and I welcome it with open arms,” Owens, who made a visit to the Bengals, told the Cincinnati Enquirer. (more…)

New Orlean Saints is in another Celebration

nflAfter the great and glorious celebrations of  first Super Bowl championship win, New Orlean Saints team and city is now celebrating another party.

New Orlean Saints win their Super Bowl Championship title after 43 years and four weeks for NFL Films and Warner Home Video to complete a commemorative video recapping the best season in franchise history.

The video’s official release was set for today, hours after a premiere at the 95-year-old Prytania Theater in New Orleans’ historic Uptown neighborhood Monday night. (more…)

Kevin Williams proved his genuinity

nflMinnesota Vikings defensive lineman Kevin Williams got the positive results in the tests that he never took steroids. Kevin Williams sued the National Football League over leaked drug-test results.

As per the teammate suggestion, Kevin Williams took StarCaps in order to lose weight at the start of training camp in the year 2006, Williams testified in state court in Minneapolis. Kevin Williams and other player Pat Williams, later tested positive for bumetanide, an ingredient in StarCaps banned because it can mask steroids. (more…)

Cleveland Browns gets Seneca Wallace

Seneca WallaceSeneca Wallace American football player was brought by the Cleveland Browns from Seattle Seahawks. Cleveland Browns exchanged Seneca Wallace with an undisclosed 2011 draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks. Wallace played his entire seven career with Seattle Seahawks. He drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. In his seven years career Wallace,29 has completed 333 of 556 passes with 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Wallace appeared in 48 games and thrown for 3,547 passing yards. He played under Mike Holmgren when he was working with Seahawks. Mike Holmgren now moved to Cleveland Browns as a president and he makes his mark in that team by picking his old players to his new team.

Wallace’s best season was in 2008, he played eight matches in that season and threw for 1,532 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Free-agent CB Bodden sticks with Patriots

CB BoddenFree agent CD Bodden went on a visit with the Texans on sunday, where he travelled to Houston. Bodden was found saying Fox 26 in Houston, “I think it’s great having a team like the Houston Texans being interested in me,” Bodden said,  “I’m just going to go here, meet the coaches, and hopefully everything goes good.”

Bodden was found saying “It’s kind of nerve-wracking. It is what it is. It’s part of the business. Hopefully I can get things done with the Texans and just move on.”

Alvin Keels agen of Bodden spoke with Texans, seahawks and Steelers regarding Bodden. The Visit of Bodden to Houston is his first of free agency.
