Former Oakland Raiders player, Jack Tatum died on Tuesday. Jack Tatum called as one of the hard hitters in the NFL.
Jack Tatum, a 61-year-old died in an Oakland hospital due to massive heart attack. Jack Tatum family members say that he fought with diabetes and other health concerns since few years. The sudden assassin of Jack Tatum shocked all the NFL teams and freaks.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of Jack Tatum’s passing,” the Oakland Raiders said. “Jack was a true Raider champion and a true Raider warrior. Jack was the standard bearer and an inspiration for the position of safety throughout college and professional football.”
Jack Tatum has played ten seasons from 1971 to 1980. He was a member of Oakland Raiders during their Super Bowl victory and spent nine seasons for Oakland Raiders. In
the 1971 NFL Draft, he was drafted by Oakland Raiders as 19th overall pick in the place of Dave Grayson.
In the 1980 NFL Draft, he was traded to Houston Oilers and ended up his NFL career after the 1980 season. During that season, he played 16 matches and made a career-high seven interceptions to finish with a career total of 37, which he returned for 736 yards.
Jack Tatum was called as “The Assassin†after hitting New England Patriots receiver, Darryl Stingley, who paralyzed during a preseason match on August 12, 1978. Later, it was called as one of the tragic moments in the NFL.
