The Free agent, Jake Delhomme will be working out for the quarterback-starved Houston Texans on Tuesday. As per the close source, Jake who has thrown for 20,764 yards and 125 yards with 101 interceptions in 10 NFL seasons, played for the Cleveland Browns in 2010 has started with four games before giving way to then-rookie quarterback Colt McCoy.
The Texans coach, Gary Kubiak said on Monday that the team would sign another quarterback. However, he maintained that he plans to move forward with rookie T.J. Yates and veteran Kellen Clemens at the position. Kubiak said that he doesn’t always watch every workout, but he did watch the quarterbacks. He added that he has an opinion on those guys and there are some other names that are going to come up there over the course of the next day or so and they will just have to sort it all out.
Furthermore, the Houston needs quarterback depth after losing Matt Leinart to a fractured collarbone in Sunday’s 20-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. So, they are placing Matt Schaub on season-ending injured reserve with a right foot injury. However, the Texans worked out Jeff Garcia, Trent Edwards and Brodie Croyle, among others, last week before signing Clemens.
