A Pakistani-American has entered into a contract to buy an American football team worth $450-$750 million, depending on specifications of the deal, St. Louis Today reported.
Shahid Khan is the president of Flex-N-Gate Corp., an auto-parts manufacturer based in Urbana, Illinois. Mr Khan, 55, has lived in the area for more than 40 years. He is married with two children and a graduate of the School of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois.

Mr Khan entered into the contract with owners of St. Louis Rams, Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez on Thursday.
According to St. Louis sources, Mr Khan will purchase 60 per cent of the football team owned by siblings Rosenbloom and Rodriguez, who inherited the franchise in 2008 from their late mother, Georgia Frontiere.
National Football League (NFL) owners must approve the sale. NFL comprises 32 teams and their affairs are governed by an NFL commissioner entrusted to regulate teams and their affairs. The Rams owners and Mr Khan won’t close the deal until next month.
Mr Khan began working for Flex-N-Gate in 1970 and has owned the company since 1980. Under his direction, the company’s revenue has increased to more than $2 billion.
