Miami quarterback Jacory Harris is looking to play season’s opening match against Maryland in the upcoming season on 5th September in 2011.
The 21-year-old Jacory Harris and eight other players have concerned by the extra-benefits scandal for the first time on Saturday. Miami football officials stated that, they have provided additional benefits to Hurricane players and recruits, since 2002-10. The Canes has to announce that, the players are ineligible in order to play in the opening match against Maryland on 5th September.
The suspension follows with the former UM booster Nevin Shapiro, who was jailed for operating a $930 million Ponzi scandal, afforded thousands of impermissible benefits around 72 athletes from 2002 to 2010. The Miami football players will not be declared ineligible, who has got under $100 in benefits and also allowed to pay back. The several players are suspended by NCAA including eight Miami stars, after investigating.
The senior quarterback Harris along with other football players such as Sean Spence, Marcus Forston, Ray-Ray Armstrong, Vaughn Telemaque, Adewale Ojomo, Olivier Vernon, Marcus Robinson, JoJo Nicolas, Travis Benjamin, Aldarius Johnson and Dyron Dye are under NCAA investigation. Harris, who led Miami on two comeback drives against the Virginia Cavaliers and Duke Blue Devils. He has made 1,195 passing yards including 12 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
