Jim Irsay: Payton Manning Highest-Paid Quarterback in NFL

Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay has announced that Peyton Manning will be the highest-paid quarterback in NFL. Peyton Manning has won four MVP awards in NFL.

Jim Irsay statement seems to be that he wants to make Payton Manning as the richest quarterback in NFL. Jim Irsay is always ready to spent huge money for the top class players.

“The bottom line is we’ll get something done and when it happens just depends,” Jim Irsay said. “I said he’d be the highest-paid player and he may already be if we go with the tag. I’d love to see him be here and break all those records as a Colt.”

In 2004, PeytJim Isray and Payton Manningon Manning has signed with Indianapolis Colts which worth’s $98 million. Jim Irsay has spent more than $27 million for each player such as receiver Reggie Wayne, tight end Dallas Clark, defensive ends Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis, cornerback Kelvin Hayden and safeties Bob Sanders and Antoine Bethea.

Jim Irsay said Indianapolis Colts team president, Bill Polian and Peyton Manning’s agent, Tom Condon have discussed about the deal renewal. But, the talks are on hold due to bargaining in the deal. In 2004, Manning received $34.5 million as a bonus after winning his second MVP award.

Peyton Manning was drafted by Indianapolis Colts in the 1998 NFL Draft as No.1 overall pick. Peyton Manning has played an important in the Colt’s Super Bowl XLI victory in 2007. He led the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV where they lost against New Orleans Saints with 31-17. Payton Manning has won record number of MVP awards, one Super Bowl ring and one Super bowl MVP award.
