Larry Bruno a high school football coach of Joe Namath has died at the age of 88. Larry Bruno died due to illness on Friday at Heritage Valley Beaver hospital.
Larry Bruno played for Geneva College football games as quarter back at his Pro carrier. Ha has refused contract with Pittsburg Steelers and then went as coach of Joe Namath high school. He was drafted by Steelers in 1947.
Larry Bruno career record as coach with Monaco team from 1949-1958 and Beaver Falls from 1959-1978 while high school was highlighted by Namath led the team 10-0 in the year 1960. Namath choose Bruno in attendance with the former New York Jets quarterback entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. Larry Bruno’s final record at Beaver Falls is 184-52-9. The Beaver Falls team won western Pennsylvania championship with out playoffs.
After the year 1968 normal season, Namath engineered a monumental disappoint by leading the Jets to a 16-7 victory over the NFL Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. Larry Bruno’s daughter, Valerie Wright said that her father remained a favorite person long time after his retirement. The fellow players of his team have spoke of how he influenced their lives off the field.
