South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore schedule to undergo surgery on his left knee, suffered injury at team’s victory 14-12 win over Mississippi State on October 15th.
The 20-year-old Marcus Lattimore said he tore a ligament playing against Mississippi State Bulldogs last month and forced to pull out of the season with knee injury. Lattimore had made first sub-100 yard rushing game of the season, running for 77-yards on 20 carries including 22 yard touchdown. He also caught three passes for 73-yards and scored a 52-yard reception, while lead the team to a 21-3 and a 4-1 start. Doctors have not announced any exact date for the knee surgery, where they are waiting for the swelling to go down, before operation. Lattimore hurt his knee last month, while blocking for Bruce Ellington rolled up on his leg.
Marcus Lattimore has led the nation in rushing this season, after first three games, where he had run for 818 yards in seven games and the team’s second leading rusher is freshman Brandon Wilds with 353 yards. Lattimore said he will work hard 100 percent on rehab and return back to team as soon as possible. He added it will be tough challenge for him to come back into the team with full fitness. Running back has traveled along with the team to the Tennessee for the next match. Lattimore said he will begin rehabilitation exercises to get ready for the next season, after surgery.
