Chiefs QB Cassel Doubtful: Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Matt Cassel underwent Appendectomy. Chiefs QB Cassel is doubtful for Sunday’s play against Chargers.

Kansas City Chiefs striking QB Matt Cassel who undergone an emergency appendectomy two days ago, is still in doubtful list for Sunday’s showdown play against San Diego Chargers.

Adhering to team’s stringent policies, Chief’s Coach Todd Haley refused to comment on Cassel’s placement on Sunday’s play except giving us that he is still in doubtful list.

Briefing up his policy of not commenting on any players injuries especially, Haley sums up – opponents see it as a body game over there on the field and commenting on injured players may give them a clue on where and how to tackle the players exactly resulting in more difficult situations. Thus, the team follows a strict rule not to comment on injuries and maintains a zipped lip line in any sort of physical issues related to players. It’s just to maintain peace of players and thus of game. We just don’t want to put our players in vulnerable situations.

Cassel, on Friday is seen in sweat pants observing match while his teammates are on action field with the pads up for their practice. Cassel is the critical resource for Chief’s to be in 8-4 position, appeared to do nothing but light tossing on the field at practice.

The Quarter Back with his 98.4 passing rate and 23 touchdowns with 4 interceptions in this season has already been as NFL’s best running attack and is carrying full hopes for his existence in the team for Sunday’s attack on Chargers.

Meanwhile, QB backup Brodie Croyle despite his 0-9 since 2006 has seen on practice on Friday testing his chances. The backup may not be as big as Cassel but has a stronger arm, if all set done he is ready to pass on the ball as said by offensive coordinator. However, offense would not change if Croyle plays in place of Cassel’ absence.

Having doctor reports, still ambiguous on Cassel’s come back; Chief’s are heading for Sunday’s play against San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium.
