Matt Hasselbeck will start as quarter back for Seattle Seahawks in Saturdays NFC playoff against New Orleans Saints. Hasselbeck was ruled out from Seattle season finale due to hip injury.
Hasselbeck has done 59.9 percent of his passes this season for 3001 yards and 12 touchdowns with 17 interceptions. Charlie Whitehurst who played six games in this season has finished with 22 of 36 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown versus the St. Louis Rams at Sunday night playoff.
Matt Hasselbeck will play for the final time in the jersey of Seahawks on Saturday.
Hasselbeck contract with Seattle Seahawks will expire by the end of this season; he wants to retie with Seattle after 10 seasons and 147 post season games. He stated that they as a team saw this year with huge amount of revenue they had, you could never know when will be your last day. The crowd is always there for us to support, hopefully we can maintain the same spirit as a team.
Hasselbeck future is in a state of bother at this point of time. Seattle Seahawks have traded a second round pick to San Diego and made a deal with Whitehurst for an $8 million contract for two years. Hasselbeck was turning 36 by the first month of the next season, his future with Seattle Seahawks after 2010 was not granted.
Hasselbeck said that it was very special coming in to Seattle Seahawks and they are not really good team and they worked hard on our weak points and now we were one of the good teams.
