NFL coach, Mike Tomlin’s contract has been extended for three years with Pittsburgh Steelers despite missing the 2009 NFL playoffs.
Mike Tomlin, who missed the 2009 NFL playoffs closed all speculations about his job trouble and decided to continue with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, he is ready to follow the footsteps of Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher.
The original deal of Mike Tomlin was for five-years which will be up to 2010 with an option year in 2011. During that time, he earned $2.5 million each year. With this new deal, Mike Tomlin will continue with Pittsburgh Steelers up to 2014. Mike Tomlin will receive $5 million per year.
Mike Tomlin led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a Super Bowl 2008. Tomlin has a 31-17 record in three years with Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mike Tomlin is going to start the season without their two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for the first six matches of the 2010 NFL regular season over the allegations of sexual assault by a Georgia college student. However, the charge was dismissed later.
