The New England patriots have officially announced that their franchise tag on protector still remains the same according to a league source, by the close of business approaches on Monday. Logan Mankins was the only to remains in the same designation.
Later the patriots have confirmed that they have placed the Tag on three-time Pro Bowl lineman, has missed almost half of last season while over-involved in a contract dispute with the team.
In the 2005 NFL Draft, Mankins, was the main player in the offensive line, from the time we have drafted him in the first round and in the future, he will be one of the key player in the Patriots.
After so many attempts from both the sides to take a long time contract, the objective in utilizing the franchise designation. We are optimistic that. Logan Mankins will be playing for many years and he will in Patriot team.
The NFL Players Association has discarded to utilize the franchise tag, and it remains to be seen whether or not it will be a part of the next collective bargaining agreement.
Logan Mankins, the NFLPA offensive lineman expects to receive $10.1 million under the tag.
Mankins said that he believes that Patriots are improbable to be concerned with any kind of bidding wars and said that he would never say the door is totally shut. And said that, it will not happen, however, it is complete with the franchise tag.
