The American football will take a root in Nigeria on Sunday, 13th March, 2011, where they will establish the national federation for the first time in Africa dedicated to the sport.
Four players from NFL, Amobi Okoye, Connor Barwin, who are playing for Houston Texans, Frank Okam, who is playing for Tampa Bay Buccaneers and James Ihedigbo of the New York Jets will be available for the declaration. All the players will escort the fourth annual changing through Education program, which is being taking care by the Okoye Foundation. The foundation is also planning to fabricate a college prep school for students who do extremely well at academics and athletics.
Amobi Okoye, the Houston Texans player, was born in Nigeria and was shifted to United Sates of America, when he was 12 year old kid. Okoye was the youngest player, who was selected in an NFL draft, when he was 19 years old and the Texans picked him in the first round, 10th overall pick in 2007 NFL Draft.
Amobi Okoye wants to fulfill his dream by developing NFL in Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Now, his dream comes true and said that it will benefit communities and young people by teaching the values of teamwork and dedication, and create opportunities to succeed.
The representatives from the International Federation of American Football and USA Football, the sport’s national governing body in the United States, will be present at the establishment of national federation in Africa.
