Cleveland Browns has selected nose tackle Phil Taylor as the 21st overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft 2011 at the Radio City Hall in New York on 28th April.
The 23-year-old Phil Taylor will be their future nose tackles as the Cleveland Browns runs a 3-4 defense tackle for the next season. Taylor was one of the few potential nose tackles in the 2011 NFL Draft. Phil Taylor had started his career at Penn State, but he was transferred to Baylor.
He had played all 13 games in the last season for Baylor and he also recorded career high ten tackles in the final collegiate game in Texas Bowl against Illinois. The National Football analyst said that, Phil Taylor is a strong man with 151 kgs, who had improved his performance very much in the Senior Bowl in February, 2011. The Cleveland Browns made 3-4 alignment to a 4-3 under new coach Pat Shurmur.
Earlier, Kansan City Chiefs were done long workout with Taylor, but he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. After the NFL Draft, Taylor said he was very impressed with the club and how they handled the draft on Thursday night.
