Pittsburgh Steelers are in need of Ben Roethlisberger more than ever, though Big Ben is suffering from ankle sprain, that may put players on bench for weeks, but they need him to get the Division.
Roethlisberger is one heck of a flexible athlete, who is one of the league’s toughest, however the reports say that he is having a Level One sprain, which is not as severe as others and he needs to be absolutely there on Monday night if the Steelers want to win the game and their division. The next is scheduled at San Francisco and the game against 49ers which is the last toughest team left for them to play.
Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin stated quarterback is in doubt for next Monday’s game at San Francisco due to a sprained left ankle, but he is working determinedly to be on the field against the 49ers. Roethlisberger crashed out of the field during the Thursday’s game against Cleveland in the second quarter after turning the ankle while getting sacked. But he returned back in the game in second half and threw 178 yards and a touchdown.
On Monday the ace quarterback didn’t take the practice session, and the Coach also added that Roethlisberger needs go through practice at some point in this week if he wants to play, in addition he believes the extra day of rest will almost certainly benefit the quarterback. Monday is going to be critical for the Steelers and if he’s on the field they have their best chance to beat San Francisco. Steelers are currently tied with Baltimore for first in the AFC North, but the Ravens have the upper hand tiebreaker, that’s because of two defeats of Pittsburgh. The Ravens will get into field on Sunday in San Diego, or you can just say a day before the Steelers take on San Francisco, so Pittsburgh will know where it stands with Baltimore before it takes the field.
Big Ben was still in a walking boot Tuesday, and people close to the team don’t expect him to try to practice, if the boot is taken out by this week and Big B is ready to go on Monday, then The Steelers’ chances of winning a division not only depend on it. Their chances of repeating as AFC champions might, too. The current situation of Steelers are NFL suspended linebacker James Harrison one game for helmet-to-helmet hit on Thursday night on Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy. And the other injuries list include center Maurkice Pouncey, is also dealing with a sprained left ankle followed by Linebacker LaMarr Woodley (strained left hamstring) and defensive end Ziggy Hood (right hamstring) are expected to play.
