Free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress said he will be meeting with his former coach, Tom Coughlin and talk about his return to the Giants.
However, a source close to the league said that the new labor agreement may delay Burress’ meeting with Coughlin. As per the new labor deal the Giants are going to visit with Plaxico that might be on Friday not any time soon. Although it is not clear that Giants’ officials can leave the facility and meet with Burress off-site prior to then.
But many sources reported that Burress was slated to meet with Giants officials as well on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday Giants had discussions throughout the day about Burress’ possible return. Giants are in favor to see Burress back in the team.
Wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who will turn 34 in August was released from prison in June after serving a nearly two-year sentence on a weapons possession charge.
During an interview Burress expressed doubt that he could co-exist once again with Coughlin. The coach of Giants Tom Coughlin has told general manager Jerry Reese that he is willing to sit down and talk with Burress.
