Watch New York Jets Vs. Cincinnati Bengals NFL Playoffs Live Streaming Online

nflAlthough the Jets routed the Bengals in week 17 by a score of 37 to 0, don’t expect a similar performance by either team. This game will be played in Cincinnati and will include the Bengals leading rusher Cedric Benson, two factors that were not present in week 17 that I believe will make a large difference in the outcome.

Many Jets supporters are pointing to the fact that the Jets have won 5 out of their last 6 games, and that hot teams usually fare better come the playoffs then teams that may be stronger but stumble in with a loss or two. Of those 5 wins out of their last 6 games, three were against under .500 teams, and the other two were against teams that had already clinched playoff spots, were resting players, and had no reason to win (Colts, Bengals). NFL Playoffs New York Jets Vs. Cincinnati Bengals Live Streaming

nflThe New York Jets ended the regular season as the number one rushing team in the league as well as the number one defensive team in the league, a deadly combination. Their rushing attack is led by Thomas Jones, who had another brilliant season for the Jets. Rookie Shonn Greene has done a nice job as the number two back, especially since Leon Washington went down. The offensive line has done a great job as well opening up holes for them led by Pro-Bowlers Alan Faneca and Nick Mangold. Last week the Jets even unleashed Brad Smith out of the WIldcat and he made some big plays. As for the defense, it is loaded with playmakers.CB Darelle Revis is a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year and has shut down every big time receiver he has faced. S Jim Leonard had a solid season. S Kerry Rhodes came on late in the season after a slow start. Their linebacking core is excellent led by Calvin Pace, Bart Scott, and David Harris who led the team in tackles and is expected to play on Saturday despite an ankle injury.

The defensive line is solid despite the loss of NT Kris Jenkins. The only thing that kept the Jets from being an elite team in the regular season was the inconsistent play of QB Mark Sanchez who struggled despite a good receiving corps of Jerricho Cotchery, Braylon Edwards, and Dustin Keller. Drew Brees deserves NFLs Most Valuable Player honor

nflOne benefit from the New Orleans Saints’ otherwise forgettable 23-10 loss at Carolina on Sunday: It might have boosted quarterback Drew Brees’ chances of winning the NFL’s MVP award.

Brees might have bolstered his case by NOT playing.

Consider it Exhibit A in how valuable he is to New Orleans’ offense.

With Brees on the sideline,  the Saints posted season-low totals of 10 points and 213 yards against the Panthers.

With Brees under center in two previous starts against the very same Panthers,  the Saints averaged 30.5 points and 473 yards.

The play caller was the same. The receivers were the same. The offensive line was the same,  and the running backs,  with the notable exception of Pierre Thomas,  were the same. (more…)

Players struggle to deal with Chris Henry’s death

nflThe death of Bengals receiver Chris Henry hit home in every NFL locker room yesterday, including the one filled with Patriots

One former teammate, practice squad quarterback Jeff Rowe, struggled to come to grips with Henry’s passing. The two played together last season.

Henry, 26, fell off the back of a pickup truck during what police said was a domestic dispute with his fiancee on Wednesday, and he died early yesterday.

Henry had battled off-the-field issues, but friends said he was putting those behind him.

“He was working really hard to change his life,” Rowe said. “That’s probably the saddest part. He was such a great guy. Incredibly talented, his potential was unbelievable. I know everybody absolutely loved him. It just (stinks).” (more…)

Cincinnati Bengals Vs. Minnesota Vikings NFL Week14 Result

nflResult: Cincinnati 10, Minnesota 30

Brad Childress uses video clips, a dry wit and his psychology degree to address the Minnesota Vikings in team meetings the night before games, and for this week’s message the coach used an auto racing analogy.

That lopsided loss at Arizona? Just a pit stop, Childress insisted.

Adrian Peterson ran 26 times for 97 yards and two touchdowns, pushing the Vikings past the mistake-prone Cincinnati Bengals in a bruising 30-10 victory on Sunday.

“We wanted to come out and show to ourselves that this is the Vikings team you have seen all year,” said Peterson, who added 40 yards receiving and set a single-season franchise record with 14 rushing touchdowns. (more…)

Cincinnati Bengals 7-16 Victory Over Cleveland Browns

nflLess than two weeks after the Cincinnati Bengals signed him as an inexpensive insurance policy, Larry Johnson showed he can still be the leading man.

The newcomer piled up 107 yards on Sunday, leading the way as the Bengals ran the table in the AFC North by running over the Cleveland Browns 16-7.

“I’m just glad they trust me to go in there, especially with the division and the playoffs on the line,” said Johnson, who was released by Kansas City after a suspension. “I just came here for a second chance.” (more…)

Cleveland Browns Vs. Cincinnati Bengals Week12 NFL Match Preview

nflA last-minute collapse against one of the worst teams in the NFL kept the Cincinnati Bengals from increasing their lead in the AFC North. Possibly getting Cedric Benson back Sunday for a meeting with the lowly Cleveland Browns might be just what they need to bounce back.

Cincinnati (7-3) opened the season with a 16-12 loss to Denver after giving up a fluky 87-yard touchdown catch with 11 seconds left. The Bengals then surprisingly won seven of eight, posting an 18-12 victory at Pittsburgh on Nov. 15 to move into sole possession of first in the division.

They were in prime position to expand that lead last Sunday as the other three teams in the North lost, but the Bengals gave up 10 points in the final 33 seconds to fall 20-17 at Oakland. Cincinnati committed eight penalties, fumbled three times and missed a field goal to see its three-game winning streak come to an end. (more…)

Bengals finally all grown up

nfl

Maturity isn’t a word that has been associated with the Bengals over the years, but Sunday’s 18-12 victory over the Steelers was a testament to the way this Cincinnati team has grown.

“We came into the season immature, but our maturity grows by the week,” Bengals defensive tackle Tank Johnson said.

With a 7-2 record and season sweeps of the Ravens and Steelers, the Bengals have clearly come together.

“I wouldn’t say that we walk into a stadium and we’re athletically more gifted than our opponents or than anybody,” quarterback Carson Palmer said. “I just think that we want it more. We work harder. At the end of the day, we understand how to win ballgames.”

Here’s the defensive example to explain that understanding. In practice last week, Bengals coaches emphasized the importance of not letting Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger get outside the pocket and make plays. The Bengals’ four-man line, led by Jonathan Fanene rushing from right end, perfectly executed a “mush” rush, which requires control and solid thinking. Instead of just rushing and attacking, mush-rush linemen stop and start, stop and start and often hold their hands up high to bat down passes if possible. (more…)
