Philadelphia Eagles Vs. Dallas Cowboys Live Streaming Online

nflThe 11-5 NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys take on the 11-5 Philadelphia Eagles for the third time this season when the two rivals meet in Saturday’s NFC wild card showdown on NBC. These two teams just met in Week 17 with Dallas cruising 24-0. That win was the second this season and the fourth in the last six meetings for the Cowboys, which hold a 55-43 lead in the all-time series.

While Dallas has had the edge over the Philadelphia this season, it knows that winning in the regular season and winning in the playoffs are two entirely different things. In the 2007 season, the Cowboys defeated the Giants in both regular season games, but they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champs in the playoffs. That loss was the latest postseason defeat for a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game since 1996. (more…)

NFL fine scuffling duo

nflNew York Giants man Shaun O’Hara and Philadelphia Eagles counterpart Trent Cole were both fined $15,000 for their scuffle last Sunday.

The pair exchanged blows at the end of the Eagles’ thrilling 45-38 shootout victory against their NFC East rivals in New York last Sunday.

IN the closing seconds of the game at Giants Stadium, Big Blue centre O’Hara shoved Cole in the facemask, and the Eagles defensive end responded.

Cole threw a pair of punches in response to O’Hara’s stiff-arm shove and now the NFL has responded by fining the pair $15,000.

O’Hara says that he plans to appeal against the decision as he feels the fine is too severe for the offence, which occurred during an always-heated rivalry game. (more…)

The Eagles (8-4) won in Atlanta 34-7 in Week 13 and sit atop the NFC East. Dallas Cowboys Vs. New York Giants NFL Week 13 Picks

nflNFL Week13 Picks: The Dallas Cowboys are hoping Tony Romo can solve his late-season woes as they try to take a major step toward the NFC East title. The fading New York Giants are hopeful that Eli Manning’s right foot problem won’t hamper him in a game they desperately need.

The Cowboys make their final visit to Giants Stadium on Sunday when they try to avenge an earlier loss to New York, which needs a win to keep any realistic hopes of winning the division alive.

Dallas (8-3) leads Philadelphia by one game and New York by two in the East as it tries to erase the memories of past poor finishes. The Cowboys are 5-10 the previous three seasons after November, including two playoff losses.

Romo is a big reason for those woes with 16 touchdowns, 20 interceptions and a 58.2 completion percentage in those games. He has 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. (more…)

Atlanta Falcons Vs. New York Giants Week11 NFL Match Preview

58739884NFL Week 11 Picks: Atlanta Falcons Vs. New York Giants : Giants Stadium, East Rutherford 1:00 PM EST Sunday November 22, 2009.

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin gave his team four days off during its bye week. It’s time to find out if the once-mighty Giants can respond and save what seemed like a promising season.

The Giants look to end their four-game slide Sunday when they host the Atlanta Falcons, who could be without top rusher Michael Turner.

New York looked dominant during a 5-0 start but hasn’t won since. The Giants (5-4) were in good position to break through in their last game before allowing San Diego to drive 80 yards in the final 2 minutes for the winning touchdown in a 21-20 loss two weeks ago. (more…)

While the first-place Dallas Cowboys have major aspirations and the last-place Washington Redskins continue to have questions, none of that matters to the participants in one of the league’s fiercest rivalries.

Week 11 power rankings: NFC East

nfl

After taking a minute to peruse the rankings, it’s time to discuss how NFC East teams continue to plummet — and deservedly so. All we can do is try to hold onto the memories of the the early weeks, when the Giants and Eagles were beating up on a soft schedule. Here’s how the Beast teams finished this week:

10. Dallas Cowboys — The Cowboys only dropped two spots after a road loss to the Packers. Either the voters think Sunday’s performance by Dallas was an aberration or they think the Packers are about to make a run.

12. Philadelphia Eagles — The Eagles only dropped one spot in the rankings from last week. I think that says more about the staggering amount of mediocre teams in the league than it does the voters’ faith in the Eagles.

16. New York Giants – The Giants had a strong bye week with the Cowboys and Eagles losing, but the voters went ahead and dropped them another spot. They will play a Falcons team that dropped a whopping five spots in the rankings to No. 14 overall.

24. Washington Redskins — The win over the Broncos moved the Skins up two spots, which is about right. I thought they were too high at No. 26, but they deserved a bump after the impressive win. If they beat the Cowboys on Sunday, they’ll make a serious move in the rankings.

We’ll return in a little while to talk about how the NFC East stacks up with the other divisions.(source)

Philadelphia Eagles vs San Diego Chargers Week 10 NFL Match

nfl

The fans at Qualcomm Stadium will be treated to a game between Donavon McNabb’s Philadelphia Eagles and the San Diego Chargers when they take their seats on Sunday at 4:15 PM ET. The Eagles trail the Cowboys by a game in the NFC East and are tied with the Falcons for the Wildcard.  San Diego is a game behind the Broncos in the AFC West and is tied with the Steelers for the Wildcard. Both need victories to try to keep pace for the playoffs, my NFL week 10 predictions have the Eagles winning on the road so take the points to win.

Dallas beat the Eagles 20-16 as a 3-point favorite in Week 9. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (50). Quarterback Donovan McNabb threw for 227 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for Philadelphia and LeSean McCoy rushed for 54 yards on 13 carries and Michael Vick thinks he should be the starting quarterback. Vick feels the wildcat is below him and he should be the starter there or elsewhere.  So much for contrition. (more…)

Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles – NFL Match Picks Week 9

nfl

Divisional bragging rights will be on the line on Sunday night at 8:20 PM ET when the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles meet at Lincoln Financial Field. This matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles isn’t nearly as big as the last one. Still, it always seems meaningful when these archrivals play, and the 100th meeting is certainly no different. A few weeks after both teams seemed headed in the wrong direction, the Cowboys and Eagles have gotten back on track but only one will leave Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night alone atop the NFC East.

The Cowboys defeated Seattle 38-17 as a 10-point favorite in Week 8. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (46.5). Tony Romo passed for 256 yards with three touchdowns for Dallas and Miles Austin caught five passes for 61 yards with a touchdown in the win. The total has gone OVER in 7 of Philadelphia’s last 8 games when playing at home against Dallas. (more…)

NFL Gambling – NFL Previews – NFC East

Is the NFC East the best division in football? We just had this conversation in the office and there were a lot of points made for that being the case and points made against that being the case.

Remember, last year the Eagles were upset by the Cardinals in the NFC East Conference Championship and the rest of the division was either gone earlier or irrelevant come playoff time. The Giants won the Super Bowl two years ago, but the Redskins and Cowboys haven’t been significant factors in the post-season for years.

A case can be made that the NFC South, despite the down cycle in Tampa Bay, is a tougher division and of the AFC South is in the mix (if Jacksonville can regain their form).

Online sportsbook SPORTSBETTING.com has posted the NFL odds for the Super Bowl and for the divisional crowns. The NFC East is well represented at the top of the Super Bowl future odds betting menu.

Let’s have a look at some of those odds:

Super Bowl Odds

Washington Redskins 40 – 1

Seattle Seahawks 40 – 1

Green Bay Packers 28 – 1

Arizona Cardinals 25 – 1

Atlanta Falcons 22 – 1

Baltimore Ravens 22 – 1

Carolina Panthers 22 – 1

Chicago Bears 20 – 1

New Orleans Saints 20 – 1

Tennessee Titans 18 – 1

Minnesota Vikings 16 – 1

Dallas Cowboys 15 – 1

San Diego Chargers 14 – 1

Indianapolis Colts 14 – 1

Philadelphia Eagles 14 – 1

New York Giants 11 – 1

Pittsburgh Steelers 10 – 1

New England Patriots 6 – 1

Judging by the respect the NFC East receives from the bettors and oddsmakers, they are the best division in football, as all four of their teams are in the top 18 when it comes to the Super Bowl odds.

- You can see the full list of Super Bowl odds at SPORTSBETTING.com

But it’s not as simple as looking at the NFL future odds lists to determine which division is the best. That said, it is a good indicator. The Redskins, as always lately, are expected to finish last, according to experts and the lines posted by the online sportsbook. But every year they are able to climb above expectations and slide ahead of one of their division rivals. This year’s target could well be the Dallas Cowboys.

This off-season you could see a shift in the balance of power in the division, as the Eagles had a great off-season and to me, are the team to beat. I’m concerned about the loss of Dawkins, but this defense should be able to absorb his departure.

Donovan McNabb looked good last year and all indications are he is going to be strong this year.

The odds from SPORTSBETTING.com on the Eagles to win the NFC East division are 12-5.

I like the Eagles to win the division. The Cowboys are certainly talented on both sides of the ball, but that isn’t going to be enough. The coaching staff, Tony Romo, question marks at receiver and their mental toughness are all issues that need to be worked out. I can’t see them finishing ahead of the Eagles and Giants.

Here are the NFC East Odds

Washington Redskins 11 – 2

Dallas Cowboys 12 – 5

Philadelphia Eagles 12 – 5

New York Giants 13 – 8

Next week I’ll finish up my thoughts on the NFC East and look at the NFC South.
