Green Bay Packers the Champions of NFL Super Bowl will now be the fist team in league history to play on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day in the same season, which was confirmed on Tuesday by NFL in the released league schedules.
As you are aware, NFL is in the middle of a labor clashes and lockout. Hence, the complete league schedule is being dependent and played on the agreement between owners and players. If at all the games are played according to the scheduled then Packers fans will be treated to a nationally televised game on Fox at 11:30 a.m. in Detroit for the 3rd time in the past 5 seasons.
Where in the packers will play on Christmas for the 2nd time against NFC North rival Chicago at 7:20 p.m. This is the only game played on that day and the rest of the league games played on Christmas Eve will fall on Saturday.
According to the reports, Packers the Champions appear in 5 nationally televised games, which indicate the popularity of the team in league games. 3 of the Packers 5 nationally televised games are on NBC, which includes the Sept. 8th season opener at Lambeau Field against New Orleans.
Mike McCarthy, the coach of Packers says that he is very excited as No.1 and the team to start the season. He even states that this is always a fun game to watch, and to play the Saints at home; the game wherein everyone is very excited to watch and especially the fans of Packers will be more excited and packer’s players will certainly enjoy the competition and to face the outstanding Saints football team.
